We work with ExxonMobil to help them test their communications teams as part of their full-scale Rapid Response Team (RRT) exercise. In October 2024 we were involved in an exercise at their Houston campus, where we tested their communications personnel and their crisis communications response following a high-impact oil spill incident.
We used our Social Simulator platform to create dynamic traditional and social media feeds to recreate the stakeholder pressure and scrutiny that would accompany a real-world incident, including:
Our experienced facilitation team supplemented online role-play activities by playing in role-played phone calls to the participant team to test their media handling skills during the drill. They also put communicators through their paces by testing their ability to plan and deliver press conference and Town Hall events.
Once the drill concluded we put together a detailed feedback summary including our observations and recommendations for how the participant group could make its crisis communications response even stronger in future.
