How does the UK Government Communication Service deliver crisis communications training for thousands of civil servants?

The Government Communication Service (GCS) asks us to create crisis communications training for participants with vastly different backgrounds and roles - from experienced press officers, to new social media managers or heads of strategic comms from the private sector.

Social media training online, offline, hybrid

We create and deliver these sessions online and in-person, using web conferencing, breakout rooms and Social Simulator. Sessions are interactive, utilizing our Crisis90 platform and feature feedback and stories from participants about crises they’ve worked through.

Participants work in teams to share the pressure as they respond to an unfolding crisis impacting a hypothetical government department.

We are constantly iterating an agenda that gives participants a clear overview of the “must-know” crisis communications topics and examines live issues and developments.

Key results

  • Training more than 5,000 communications staff
  • Highest ever rated piece of learning and development offered by Government Communication Service
