About the role

Job title:
Senior Consultant

Reports to:
Executive Director

Line management:
Responsible for Junior Consultant

Location of work:
New York City with regular travel in the US and overseas

Hours of work:
40 hours per week

Holiday entitlement:
25 days a year in addition to Federal and State holidays

Contract term:
One year rolling, following successful completion of 90-day probationary period

Salary and benefits:
$65,000-$75,000 with a further 5% employer pension contribution and health insurance

Purpose:
Support account development and business growth, developing new business independently, delivering key consulting assignments and helping with the management of the team

Person specification

You will have:

  • Corporate communications consulting experience for major corporate and/or government clients, with a clear and effective presentation style to a range of audiences from junior to executive leadership
  • Crisis management and/or journalism experience, with an established network of connections and former colleagues in sectors you have worked in
  • Business development experience, including growing client accounts, preparing and delivering client pitches, proposals and planning marketing activities
  • A strong interest in digital communication trends and effectiveness, with evidence of your own use of social media for professional purposes
  • A track record and practical examples of managing projects of different scales to fixed deadlines and budgets
  • A hands-on approach, able to self-service your own day to day administrative needs, get to grips with new systems and tools quickly

Job description

The role will require you to:

  • Scope, manage and deliver digital corporate communications consultancy projects including crisis simulations, training workshops, coaching and strategic recommendations
  • Present scenarios, workshops and recommendations to client audiences ranging from customer care teams to C-suite executives
  • Develop new business (digital skills and crisis preparedness programs ) from current and new clients
  • Manage, motivate and develop junior colleagues, as a senior member of a growing Americas team
  • Contribute to the effective running of a dynamic, fast-growing business from marketing to finance, recruitment to training
  • Travel and represent the business effectively across the Americas
